INTRALOGISTICS

INTRALOGISTICS
Optimal production processes require an equally optimal internal material flow. Efficient planning and control of available resources with an AI-based transportation control system is a prerequisite for optimal internal logistics processes.
The Challenge of Intralogistics
For in-plant logistics, complex production processes mean that an ever-increasing number of different parts must be made available for production in the right quantity, in the right sequence, and on time. Production and logistics processes must be optimally coordinated in order to supply production with the right material at the right time, in the right quantity and quality, on time, and at low cost.
Intelligent Software for Smart Processes
An intelligent transport control system ensures that production processes are optimally linked to material supply processes. This allows companies to manage their material flow in sync with production requirements. Real-time scheduling enables transparent transportation control, allowing planners to respond quickly and appropriately to unforeseen events.
Benefits of a Transportation Control System
Companies are producing more and more products with an increasing number of variants. This means countless individual parts must be on the assembly line in time for production. However, the forklift control systems commonly used cannot ensure a continuous supply to production. They are too static and allow only manual, error-prone planning on demand. The result is a lack of transparency, as no one knows where any material is at any given time. It is impossible to react quickly to unforeseen events. The result is unprofitable buffer stock and under-utilized vehicles. This is why companies need a transport control system that is capable of implementing a holistic logistics concept.

An Intelligent Transportation Control System Provides
- Up to 30% reduction in internal logistics costs;
- Complete transparency of the entire transportation situation;
- Continuous and secure production supply;
- Effective use of transportation resources;
- Meaningful evaluations and KPIs.

Focus: Improving Transportation Planning with Machine Learning
The use of machine learning (ML) elevates intralogistics processes to a level where they can meet the demands of increasingly dynamic production environments. ML enables a system to automatically collect data and calculate realistic default values. As the algorithms learn through experience, the predictions and databases become more accurate, enabling optimized control.
The savings potential is particularly high when ML is used intelligently. Specialized software combines ML and operations research to learn the dynamic input variables for the optimization models. This further improves the results of the optimization. In many application areas, this offers optimization possibilities that go far beyond the mere automation of decision-making.
