G IS FOR GROUND HANDLING

Find out how efficiency starts on the ground

To us, ground handling means making your journey possible—reliably, precisely, and seamlessly.

Travelers experience the freedom of flying when everything works: check in, board, and take off relaxed. Behind the scenes, however, a huge logistical network ensures this happens seamlessly. On average, an aircraft remains on the ground for 30 to 70 minutes. During this time, cleaning, refueling, loading baggage, and changing crews must all be perfectly coordinated. At large airports like Frankfurt am Main, this occurs more than a thousand times a day.

Even when everything goes according to plan, it's a significant accomplishment.

However, as soon as delays occur, planning becomes a major challenge. Each delay disrupts the airport's operations, and this is precisely where our task begins.

Our software is prepared for anything. Using artificial intelligence, it analyzes historical flight data, weather forecasts, and real-time information to identify potential delays early on. This allows the system to predict which aircraft will land late, which resources need to be rescheduled, and where bottlenecks could occur. Personnel, vehicles, and gate assignments are automatically adjusted. Instead of frantic reactions, there are planned actions — long before travelers notice anything.

Does that sound complex? It is—and that's why it's perfect for us! Since we love to travel, we've flown around the world over the last three decades and installed our software at over 170 airports. Today, we organize the handling of over 20,000 flights per day. And because we exist, you can relax and enjoy your next flight.

Without us, a significant portion of global air traffic would grind to a halt.

G IS ALSO FOR

Globalization

Globalization creates new opportunities but also is an constant challenge of decision-making. Supply chains span continents, markets react faster, and dependencies become harder to manage. Our solutions help manage this complexity by making global interconnections transparent and supporting decisions across networked processes. We operate internationally and generate more than half of our revenue outside Germany.

G IS ALSO FOR GENERATIVE AI

For many, generative AI is synonymous with chatbots and on-demand text and images. However, for us, it plays a different role: a dialogue-based interface between people and complex systems.

Generative AI enables interaction with software using natural language. In INFORM solutions, generative AI is primarily used for copilot and assistant functions. It helps analyze data in context, explain relationships clearly, and suggest next steps directly within the work context. It always keeps the human in the decision-making loop. This makes complex process logic accessible and eliminates the need for users to navigate through nested menus or model worlds.

At INFORM, generative AI is part of a larger system logic that comprises data analysis, forecasting, and optimization for planning and scheduling. In the future, generative AI will open these systems further as a natural, dialogue-based gateway to decision intelligence. It will make optimization understandable and accessible in users' everyday work.
